1)  Could you tell us a little about yourself and what’s your business about?

Having always been a creative, I studied fashion design at RMIT in Melbourne straight after high school. My first work in the fashion industry was in bridal, which often surprises people! I was working as a designer, stylist and production manager, which I gained so much experience from.

I was also able to witness the impact that fashion manufacturing can have on our planet, and from this was inspired to create a label that puts our planet first. Eco Asana combines my interests/passions for fitness, yoga, sustainability and fashion design.

2)      Do you have a morning routine? If so, what is it you do to set yourself up for the day ahead?

I did my yoga teacher training a couple of years ago, and since then, I have created the routine of meditating as soon as I wake up. It sets me up for the day. I’ve always been a morning person, so this is usually around 6am. After a coffee or chai latte, I will get my workout in. At the moment I’m loving boxing during the week, and on weekends some restorative yoga. After the gym it’s straight into work!

3)      Why did you choose to go sustainable and eco-friendly?

From my previous employment, I have seen first hand the environmental impact that a business can have if they don’t prioritize sustainability. So, when it came to starting my own business, this was a non-negotiable for me.

4)      What was the hardest part of starting your own business?

The hardest part would be all of the little details that come with setting up a website. I am certainly no tech guru!

5)     One book and/or documentary everyone should read/watch? Why?

The Earth is Hiring by Peta Kelly is my favorite book to read whenever I’m in need of some inspo. She’s an amazing motivational speaker/author, but so down to earth.

My most recommended documentary is David Attenborough’s Life on our Planet. It really demonstrates the impact that the food (meat in particular) industry is having on our planet. I have eaten vegan for almost 3 years, and doing it for the planet is my main driving force.

6)       Best piece of advice you have ever received?

I can’t pinpoint one singular piece of advice, however the one quote that I live by is ‘No one is you, and that is your power’

We are all here to offer something totally unique!
