1)  Could you tell us a little about yourself and what’s your business about?

My partner and I are both huge David Attenborough fans, so when the series ‘Our Planet’ was released we were eager to watch. The series focuses on how we as humans have impacted the environment and all living creatures. The message from the series affected us deeply, and we began to feel a sense of responsibility to do our part.

We began adjusting our day to day lives at home but felt we could take things further and so we came up with the idea for Sequela. Sequela is usually used in medical terms, but it basically means a consequence of a series of previous events. We thought it was fitting as we believe better consumer choices can lead to a better environmental outcome.

We work with brands who have a strong environmental and sustainable focus. We believe that working together and uniting lots of brands doing amazing work is a step in the right direction. Sequela is not about being the perfect environmentalist, it’s about being aware how your product choices may impact the environment and wanting to choose better.

2)      Do you have a morning routine? If so, what is it you do to set yourself up for the day ahead?

My morning routine will change depending on what I have on for the day. Most mornings, as soon as I wake up I will eat. If I’m lucky my beautiful partner (hi Naomi) will make me a coffee. From there it’s whatever goes.

3)      Why did you choose to go sustainable and eco-friendly?

David Attenborough was the straw that broke the camel’s back, but I guess I’ve always been an outdoorsy person and loved nature. The message about climate change is only becoming more prominent and of course I want to have a positive impact on that as much as I can. There are so many sustainable options out there now, it’s now just making it the new ‘norm’!

4)      What was the hardest part of starting your own business?

The hardest part was not realizing how much time would actually be involved. We had a vision, but didn’t always know how to get there, when we started breaking down all the necessary steps the task seemed daunting. But we broke it up into small parts and soldiered through them, in the end spending 1000’s and 1000’s of hours and many late nights to reach our goal.

5)     One book and/or documentary everyone should read/watch? Why?

Easy! Of course this one has to be David Attenborough ‘Our Planet’! If this won’t convince you to better your impact on the environment, I don’t know what will

6)       Best piece of advice you have ever received?

‘Life’s short, do what makes you happy’. Can’t go wrong with that one.
