Miss E Pottery

Description

Miss E Pottery is a mother and daughter duo creating beautiful handmade ceramics that are inspired by native Australian flora. Although our love for ceramics is only a recent discovery, it has blossomed this year for many reasons.

Covid 19 drastically changed my (Elizabeth's) work commitments where I found myself at home, teaching remotely via zoom and looking for inspiration to fill my days. I began pottery classes at the start of 2019 and had a few bags of clay lying around. Initially I found this to be a wonderful way to keep busy between classes but I quickly rediscovered my love for handbuilding.

Isobelle graduated university in July; however, no one could have foreseen just how much the graduate job market would be impacted by the pandemic. Having completed a Design and IT degree, she was quick to follow suit by picking up a paintbrush and has also been putting her skills to use by photographing and marketing our work through our socials.

What began as a hobby has developed into a daily creative activity that we can both enjoy. Although the pandemic has been difficult for many Australian families, we are immensely grateful that in this small but beautiful way it has brought ours closer.
